Hey guys, it’s Garrett from Landers’ Landscaping.

If you want to watch the full video where I talk about all this stuff and more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8q78s2wS6v4&t=1s

In this week’s blog, I want to talk about what this company stands for. As a young and upcoming entrepreneur, I am still relatively new to running a business and I recently faced an issue that I think many other entrepreneurs will run into as well.

Customer service.

If you guys don’t know already, I always bring a book with me. This book contains all the info regarding the kind of work our clients want and what standard they expect. I always write down what the customer wants and plan my work around what’s written in the book.

However this week, I faced a dilemma while working with one of my clients. I finished the job and presented the work to them. They explained that I had forgotten to do *something*. But it wasn’t written in the book so I explained it wasn’t part of the agreement. They insisted that they had mentioned the details beforehand.

Now I’m the kind of person who doesn’t like being taken advantage of. I’m upfront about myself and I treat clients fairly and with respect.

I expect them to do the same. It’s a professional relationship.

Now back to the situation, after analyzing the amount of time and effort needed to complete the task. It wasn’t too bad.

But in the end, I had mixed feelings about it.

I’m not concerned about the work but more about how this client responded. Now I’m sure these are common issues that come with running your own business.

However it’s not great when you’ve already established the terms of your work and they throw in another one at the end.

But as I’ve mentioned before in the past videos.

I value the relationship I have with the client. For us, it’s not just about the money. It’s about building long-lasting relationships with our customers to give them the best service possible. I’m an advocate for excellent customer service because it’s often overlooked especially in landscaping companies. I’ve had to convince many homeowners to open up about their experiences with landscapers and it has made me realize the shortage of companies with excellent customer satisfaction.

That’s why I want to change how people perceive landscapers. One client at a time, doing great work and satisfying our clients.

After all, that’s what I’ve been taught growing up.

And I’m excited to share it with everyone here, at Landers’ Landscaping.
