Hey guys it’s Garrett again with an update on the status of the company so far.

If you want to watch this video on Youtube, https://youtu.be/0jJuwj57xqg

Today I want to talk about an issue that I encountered when working with some of my employees.

First of all, I’ll have to explain the process behind how my company works.

Landers’ Landscaping is only run by me.

There are no contracts or forms you have to sign to get employed. I give all the jobs and opportunities.

It’s like temping, I’ll hire people just for the day or week. Nothing is set in stone.

With the freedom that comes with choosing your own employees, there are also many downsides. One of them I encountered was the inconsistency of the workers you hire.

At first, the employee was terrific, always got to work and got the job done.

However, when working in a group of 4 or more, I noticed his work output decreased.

It’s a common problem that happens in all workplaces, but it was the first time I experienced it in my own company.

Social loafing is when employees rely on other employees to do the work for them. It tends to happen when there are more than a certain number of workers in total.

Of course it doesn’t apply to every employee, some of them are excellent and continue to do their best.

But after witnessing this happen on the job, I’ve learned that more workers doesn’t necessarily mean a better work output.

The quality of each worker also matters.

Anyways, that’s all from me today, thanks for reading and I will see you guys next time!
